Abstract
In 2012 the Office of Information Technology established a formal Project Management Office (PMO) to formalize and facilitate professional project management methodologies and practices. OIT projects may introduce entirely new services or facilitate changes and enhancements to existing services in OIT’s service portfolio. The PMO interfaces with University stakeholders and the appropriate units to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and ultimately close a project. Upon closure of a project the result is an update to OIT’s service portfolio and service offering as well as the formation of a governance group if one does not exist for the service.
