Abstract

The current study was part of a thesis conducted by Caio Miguel (2001) in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master's of Arts in Psychology at Western Michigan University. Miguel's original study included five participants diagnosed with autism. Undergraduate research assistants conducted most sessions. Each of these assistants was assigned to work with one of the participants. The author of this paper collected data for the original study with one of the participants, Leo1. The purpose of this paper is twofold: 1) To present and discuss data derived from the sessions with Leo; 2) To describe the tasks involved in working as a research assistant for the original study conducted by Miguel.
