Abstract
Educators, government officials, and members of society at large have shown an increased concern about the behaviors of today's adolescents in academic settings. These concerns include academic deficits and truancy leading to unemployment after leaving school. Unfortunately, many of our high school graduates and dropouts have not acquired the basic skills necessary to function as independent adults with successful employment for the future. The academic deficits in these young people are directly related to school attendance.
