Abstract
Hundreds of books and essays have been written recounting the activities of the troops of the 1st platoon of Charlie Company, Task Force Barker, 11th Brigade, Americal division on March 16,1968. America was torn by the controversial events of that day for over five years. March 16,1968 was a day that blurred the lines between military and civilian law, hawks and doves, and the media and public opinion.
