Abstract
To summarize, although issues of race and culture are inextricably connected with social class, geographical location, gender, ethnicity, and religion, the purpose of this paper is to explore the development of my consciousness, my worldview, concerning my racial/cultural identity as a white person and how I relate to those from other backgrounds. As a future educator, all of the information uncovered in this exploration will be grounded in what it means to be a white teacher in this country.
