Abstract

Stryker Instruments desired the development of a quick and efficient way to test the Command2 control board, which is a circuit which controls the operation of precision micro surgical instruments. A test fixture was designed and built by Electrical Engineering students at Western Michigan University. The test fixture has taken an already manual operation and automated it for better product throughput. The test fixture is controlled and monitored by a computer. Software, written in LabWindows, was written to implement the entire testing procedure enabling a nontechnical operator to carry our the testing of the Command2 control board.
