Abstract
This project was created as a choreographic exploration of the reactions of sexual assault victims. For three years, I have had the opportunity to serve as a Sexual Assault Peer Educator through WMU's Office of Women's Resources and Services, and it has helped me to speak out about this horrible epidemic. The hard facts are that 1 in 6 women are victims of rape or attempted rape every year on college campuses, and 1 in JO men are raped in their lifetime. Although there is no certain way a survivor may react to rape, I have attempted to narrow the varied responses to six major categories, which are shown in the solo sections of this piece. Please be warned that words used in this piece may be offensive to some people. However, rape itself is an ugly thing, and ugly words are appropriate to describe it.
