Abstract
Upset testing was used to determine the bulk formability of titanium alloy £>-C. New computer controlled mechanical testing equipment, was to utilized for the testing. Difficulties with new equipment, prevented detailed testing of the material. Experimental design was developed through a literature review on bulk formability. Incorporated in the design was an allotment of time for evaluation of a new strain measurement system, to replace the older method of grid mark placement on the specimen. Results from the specimens tested indicates excellent formability, with large anisotropy in the material. The short transverse direction had large deformations, in relation to the long transverse direction, as a result of the testing done.
