Abstract
Shakespeare's lago is one of drama's most fascinating villains. He is brilliant, and is able to ensnare the majority of the major characters into his vicious web. What is most fascinating and, in turn, most difficult about gaining insight into lago's character and actions is that he pursues and enacts a vengeful plan upon his victims with what appears to be a lack of motivation; his fury outweighs the degree to which he has been wronged.
