Abstract
Although as yet no clear evidence exists that would prove an historical connection between the Jewish Kabbalah and the early Gnostic schools, the similarities in ideas between the two doctrines force one to conclude that there is, indeed, high probability of such a link. Whether some Kabbalists acquired their gnostic ideas through oral sources or whether they had access to Gnostic documents which are no longer extant, are questions which await further inquiry.
