Abstract
Safety and security are important parts of every Residence Life program. However, the atmosphere among residents and staff does not seem to reflect this importance. Through research, direct observation, and focus groups, the researcher has developed methods for improving residence hall safety and security through changes in resident education and in resident assistant training. This project contains the suggestions made to Residence Life at Western Michigan University.
