Abstract
The American Cancer Society is attacking the largest public health issue facing women by launching the largest event the Kalamazoo community has ever seen. This event, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, is the nation's largest, one-day breast cancer fundraiser. The Kalamazoo American Cancer Society sponsors this walking event made up of individuals dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. It will be held on Saturday, October 16, 1999at the Celery Flats Interpretative Center and Historical Area in Portage, Michigan. Participants raise money prior to the three and one-half mile walk. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with participants turning monies in at that time. The opening ceremony starts at 8:30 a.m. with the walk beginning at 9:30 a.m.
