Abstract
Illiteracy is a problem in our country that has far reaching effects. Jonathan Kozol is, in my opinion, the leading author on the subject, and much of the information I present come from his books. Mr. Kozol brings this problem to the reader with feeling and emotion. I have attempted to follow his example in the following pages.
