Abstract
The focus of this paper will be twofold. First, there will be a survey and brief evaluation of various philosophers who have addressed individual rights starting with Plato and Aristotle and continuing through to the present day with Nozick and Rawls. Second, will be an attempt to delineate a "best choice" from among those presented and a defense of that choice.
