Abstract

In education there are many areas of controversy because education is a profession based on methodology. In the field there are no clear-cut answers regarding the best approach to teaching. There are several methodologies in the field, but the major two are behaviorist and cognitive. Each of these methodologies reflect assumptions about learning and teaching. Each, therefore, has different methods or approaches for helping students to learn concepts which society believes are necessary for its future citizens.
