Description

This session offers a fresh look and reappraisal of early English minstrels and players. The papers explore important issues relating to these major entertainers and their traditions, separately as well as in conjunction with one another. Those issues include historiography, nomenclatures, patronage, travel, economics and politics. No previous IMC session, to our knowledge, has made its focus the two most popular forms of entertainment together.
