This session explores the embodied nature of human experience as it inflects our relationship with medieval art and architecture. Papers address the role of the senses and the “sensescape” in liturgical experience, the depiction of bodies interacting in stained glass, physical contact between cult objects and their beholders, and the role of music in a book of hours.
