Description
Scholars are well acquainted with classical influences in Dante's works. And yet, to my knowledge, what is lacking is a thorough and consistent study of these influences. Without dismissing Dante's originality, this session attempts to examine the extent to which Dante's ideas were shaped and grew out of the classical tradition. Ultimately, this session promotes a more lucid understanding of Dante's works in light of classical influences.
