Description
Recent academic discussions of the medieval wilderness have considered Giorgio Agamben’s ideas of sovereignty and bare life in Homo Sacer. The transition from the late Middle Ages and into the early Renaissance offers particularly fecund material for exploring biopolitics, space, and sovereignty as they relate to the physical environment, and in particular, for the purposes of this panel, the wilderness.
