By going beyond games traditionally associated with premodernity---chess, backgammon, or dice, for example---and expanding the meaning of "game" to include word play, puzzles, and riddles, as well as interactive reading and storytelling, this session invites a new generation of scholars to explore the interactive features of Gower's poetry and the relation of all kinds of games to the Gowerian corpus.
