The construction of a dormitory facility for a disclosed university is the project we chose to research. This dormitory is located on the south-east side of Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is a 64,000 square foot building with a preliminary cost of 6.46 million dollars. The foundation of the building is made up of footings, walls, and a slab on grade, all of which is poured cast in place concrete. There is a small basement on the east side of the basement which is used primarily for storage of MEP equipment. There are 5 above grade floors each of which have a typical layout. The walls of each floor are made of concrete masonry units, and between each floor is a precast concrete slab.
