Abstract
Reflections: An Exploration of the Body and Its Mind is a creative project and manuscript consisting of photographs, interviews, and creative nonfiction writing about individuals, their bodies, body image, and the origins of body image issues within the individual and society. This project involves ten volunteers of different personal and public identities who posed for 36 exposures of 35mm black and white film (equalling 360 negatives) and later, participated in an audio recorded interview where the volunteers discussed their relationship with their body. These photographs, interviews, and nonfiction writing samples were then collected and organized into a manuscript.
