Abstract
There are numerous group exercise (GroupEx) classes offered at the WMU Student Rec Center that are beneficial to students. These classes provide an opportunity to not only be active but also develop healthy routines, improve mental health, and build community. However, attendance in these classes is severely low. After surveying a random group of WMU students, the most mentioned factors contributing to this lack of attendance are unawareness, poor advertising, and cost. To solve this problem, I have designed a more engaging advertising system for WMU GroupEx that aims to be more unique and recognizable against other university advertisements, as well as better communicate information about the classes. The style of the advertisements themselves is sleek and refined to communicate the value of the classes and their worthwhileness to pay to attend. With this new advertising campaign, the hope is that more students will become aware of these classes and feel encouraged to attend them.
