Abstract
This piece was written for educated adults, especially those who are familiar with the Victorian or Edwardian age; initially, I submitted this as a piece for my creative writing class. The intent of the piece is to entertain and illustrate the way society perpetually trains and objectifies young women, even with the best intentions, and how difficult it is for a young woman to break the cycle. The dolls in the story represent the independence of each of the girls; once the dolls break, the girls lose any hope of breaking the cycle. The story inspires readers to compare the events of the story to those that occur in our world today, especially the role that feminism plays in our society.
