Development of education in Sisakht, Boir Ahmad, Iran

Sisakht always valued education. In 1932, the tribal chief had an audience with the Shah of Iran, and was asked what he wanted for his region. He asked for a teacher. In the 1960s, a teacher initiated the tribal school system with which to bring education widely throughout Boir Ahmad. Sisakht was a major source of teachers trained through the tribal school system. The first female teachers were from Sisakht, trained in the mid-1960s. Girls' education grew rapidly in Sisakht.
