Description

While abundant studies have treated the relationship between religion and medieval music, very few examined how vernacular poetry has been associated with music, and how this connection impacted Italy through various contexts. This panel seeks to explore the link between literature and music on a multidisciplinary level through various genres (lauda, canzone, ballata, sonnetto, madrigale, etc.) and within different perspectives (cultural, social, political, historical, economic, etc.).
