Description

Often remarked upon, the distinctive emphasis on beauty as an organizing principle in Orthodox Christianity is a subject deserving of further academic inquiry. Towards that end, we have organized two sessions around the broad theme of beauty as it is encountered and addressed in the art, architecture, poetry, worship, theology, and philosophy of the Byzantine and Medieval Near Eastern worlds.
