CONGRESS CANCELED MedievAltAc: Thriving as a Non-Traditional/Contingent/Independent Scholar (A Roundtable)

Medieval Institute, Western Michigan University

Description

More and more often, medievalists post graduate school (or while in graduate school) are engaged in non-traditional/contingent/independent positions. These lone medievalists have their own sets of concerns and issues, particularly that it is difficult to find others with whom to discuss their continued scholarship. This roundtable is intended to provide a space for those in these situations to offer advice and perspective as well as generate discussion between the participants and the audience. More importantly, it is intended to provide a space that demonstrates that Alt-Ac scholars are a vital and valued group of scholars within the medieval community. Kisha G. Tracy
