This session addresses current issues in universities and scholarship and will present papers that focus on histories of towns, their making, transformation, or disappearance, and from different academic disciplines. They will address topics such as: the end of ancient cities/towns; religious beliefs, conflict, and tolerance; the town and its margins; citizens and foreigners; the town/city as metaphor. The session will allow the maximum flexibility both in the forms and content of the discussion, and it has no disciplinary limits. Mercedes Vaquero
