Community Pandemic Accounts

The Community Pandemic Accounts was a University Libraries regional history project headed by data librarian Daria Orlowska to understand how the community has been coping and adapting to changes following the "Stay Home, Stay Safe" executive order urging Michiganders to limit contact with others in March 2020. The University community’s personal memories and experiences serve to provide a more nuanced view into these unprecedented times, with basic demographics contextualizing their experiences.

Data collection took place April 2020 through January 2021. Participants were invited to share their pandemic experiences through a voluntary Qualtrics survey appearing as pop-up window on the University Libraries homepage. A total of 68 individuals shared their experiences during this timeframe, which has been released as a de-identified dataset on Zenodo in 2022.

This collection is intended to host the raw participant responses as a companion to the dataset. Files will be embargoed until May 2025.
