Abstract

The Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha Buddhist organization, on their website, features a statement by Governor General of the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha, Chiko Iwagami. The statement details the desired response of Buddhists to the COVID-19 pandemic. Doctrine related to interconnectedness, ignorance, self-centeredness, and suffering are discussed in relation to the coronavirus pandemic. The statement is provided in Japanese and English on the website.
