Jesus Romero and Kyra Tilmon, two Western Michigan University graduate students participating in the fall 2014 Educational Leadership course EDLD 6548: Assessment and Accountability in Higher Education and Student Affairs, created this poster to present the work they did on a project for the Office of Assessment and Undergraduate Studies at WMU during the course of the semester. This project provided an avenue for the students to apply and demonstrate knowledge they gained throughout the course about assessment and evaluation. For this project in particular, the students were asked to learn about best practices for writing student learning outcomes and to then apply this knowledge to evaluate online resources dedicated to assisting in the process of writing SLOs. The students also learned how to develop a rubric to evaluate the resources consistently and constructively. The poster explains more in-depth the scope and results of the excellent work done by these two students on this project.
