Abstract
Testimonies of life beyond the grave provided by those believed to have died or come very close to death have captivated audiences for much of human history. In recent decades, accounts of Near-Death Experiences have received widespread attention in religious, scientific, and medical communities alike. In all of these circles, accounts of NDE's are met with a diverse set of reactions ranging from extreme skepticism to enthusiastic celebration. My research investigates the various attitudes held toward NDE's within the religious discourse of Christian communities, given particular attention to how these attitudes influence and are influenced buy diverse theological ideas.
