Graduate College
The Graduate College, as the institution’s primary advocate for graduate study, promotes academic excellence by taking the lead in shaping graduate policy, assisting faculty in guiding and mentoring graduate students, and integrating services that support students in becoming accomplished and ethical scholars, researchers and professionals. Western Michigan University offers nationally and internationally recognized graduate programs in a wide range of disciplines, from physics and speech pathology to creative writing and medieval studies. Almost 5,000 graduate students study and conduct graduate research at Western Michigan University.
