Abstract
The field of medicine is one that is always changing and evolving. The advent of new technology and the development of new types of treatment continue to revolutionize healthcare. Health care professionals must always strive to stay well-informed of the new discoveries that are made each and every day. These discoveries may include new diagnostic techniques, drug therapies, less invasive surgical procedures, or the appearance of new types of disease. The field of medicine necessitates continuing education. Although those health professionals that have already completed their medical education must rely on scholarly journals or seminars to enhance their knowledge, it is important that the institutions that furnish the education also seek to provide their students with the necessary skills to give adequate care.
