Abstract
This project has been conducted based on a recommendation that resulted from another study, the Girl Developers Report. A generous grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation enabled the study's authors to research "the roles and attributes of effective girl developers in the area served by the Girl Scouts of Glowing Embers Council (GSGEC)" (Ford, 2000, p. 3). The study conveyed two fundamental goals for and seven core attributes of Girl Developers. To facilitate the development of these attributes within girl developers, the authors recommended that the GSGEC develop an adult-to-adult mentoring program. Specifically, the program will be for new troop leaders and troop leaders transitioning between levels of Girl Scouting.
