Abstract
A project was undertaken to design flight test methods for use in a university aeronautical engineering curriculum. Methods were tested for determining level flight performance and airspeed calibration through standardized procedures. Additionally, a simplified method for determining level flight performance using power off glides was designed. Testing indicated acceptable results with less complexity and reduced variability. Following data reduction of all methods tested, processes were refined and paperwork produced. The final designs are represented in a series of flight test procedure documents.
