Abstract

Claims about the effects of diet and nutritional supplementation on I.Q. have caught the attention of teachers, parents and physicians who work with mentally retarded and learning disabled children. This paper summarizes a survey of literature on nutritional supplements used in the treatment of mentally retarded or learning disabled children. It is important that such claims be collected and analyzed to prevent raising falls hopes or prescribing ineffective treatments.
