Abstract
Each day around twenty million adolescents make decisions which will directly affect their development into adulthood. In order to make these ideas and attitudes they must be presented with an opportunity to learn and express themselves. This is where school comes in. As stated in the National Middle School Association position paper This We Believe, in order for middle schools to be successful, the students themselves must be successful. This paper explores what makes students and middle schools successful.
