Abstract
This Doctoral Capstone Experience focuses on the development of a comprehensive toolkit tailored specifically for early childhood professionals, including teachers and paraprofessionals. The aim of this toolkit is to provide effective support to students facing various challenges both within and beyond the classroom environment. It encompasses a diverse range of meticulously curated resources and educational materials with occupational therapy principles in mind designed to address critical areas of concern. This toolkit explores sensory processing disorders and equips early childhood professionals with essential knowledge and strategies to support their students. By facilitating ways to create a sensory-friendly environment and supporting the diverse needs of all students, it intends to maximize classroom success and nurture social-emotional development. Using evidence-based practices and adaptation recommendations, early childhood professionals are empowered to cultivate an inclusive environment prepared to meet student needs. Finally, this toolkit serves as a professional development resource hub, offering a plethora of opportunities for continuous learning and growth. From webinars to recommended readings and podcasts, early childhood professionals are encouraged to participate in continuous education to better support their students.
