Resource description
This resource is a partial orthographic transcription of an individual interview originally recorded on cassette tape in Barcelona, Spain, in 1995. Topics covered focus on language and society in contemporary Catalonia. In 1995, the person interviewed was a member of the naturally-occurring social network of a young woman who lived in Barcelona at that time whose home served as a comfortable and familiar place for the interview. The interviewer, a participant observer of that social network, was the principal investigator on a research project concerning the Spanish spoken in and around Barcelona by members of The Generation of 1995, the first generation of Catalans ever educated in their heritage language to grow up in a democratic Spain. This interview was conducted primarily in Spanish with some discourse in Catalan. Informed consent has been given for this resource to be made available anonymously for research purposes. No identifying information has been found in this resource.
