Note about the Text of Ave Maria Op. 29a-d: The version of Ave Maria Op. 29b for soprano and organ is melodically and harmonically identical to the original Op. 29a for soprano and piano. The piano version can thus also be used for practice by the soloist for singing the version scored for organ.

Note about the Text of Ave Maria Op. 29a-d: The Ave Marias for soprano and piano (Op. 29a), soprano and organ (Op. 29b), soprano and string ensemble (Op.29c), or soprano, choir, winds and strings (Op.29d) are the setting to music of the Latin words of Luke 1: 28, Luke 1: 41, and an excerpt of the Ave Maria.
