Abstract

Teachers’ mathematical knowledge plays an important role in their effectiveness as mathematics teachers. Proficiency with fraction operations is a major goal for K-8 mathematics education. Knowledge of prospective teachers’ fraction conceptions is needed to design better instructional materials for them.
