Abstract
Motivational interviewing can be used as an intervention for decreasing maladaptive health behaviors including, but not limited to, substance abuse, avoidance coping, and self-injury. Limitations of using this intervention include lack of psychoeducation, healthcare-professional burnout, and limited time spent with clients. Recommendations will be presented in poster.
