Abstract

The current study aimed to systematically replicate and extend previous research on single and mixed verbal operant training. The acquisition of mands and tacts was examined with a 4-yearold boy enrolled in a special education classroom across three different training conditions: mand-only, tact-only, and mand-tact. Mixed verbal operant training (i.e., mand-tact training) produced faster acquisition for mands but not for tacts.
