Abstract
I began my fascination with East Hall in the fall of 1997. As part of an assignment for an introductory history class, I toured the WMU Archives 8b Regional History Collections, located in the former women's gymnasium in East Hall. At first, I hesitated at the trek all the way over to East Campus from my Valley III dorm room; a long walk that covered at least a mile and crossed a four-lane thoroughfare. But, it was required, so I went. As I slowly trudged up East Campus' entrance drive, I could not believe what I saw. This was not what was shown on the orientation tour.
