Abstract
The Michigan Youth Arts Festival is a multi-day event held each May that provides performance/exhibition opportunities and educational enrichment experiences in art, creative writing, dance, film/video, instrumental and vocal music, and theatre for exceptional students, identified by discipline-specific, state wide arts education associations. Unique to Michigan, MYAF celebrates the educational excellence of all participants, including outstanding teachers and administrators, and increases public awareness of the need for quality arts education particularly in grades 9-12
