Abstract
Every society from the beginning of recorded history has had stories of heroes. These tales have done more than entertain whether they have been tales painted on cave walls and animal skins, the cuneiform epics of Gilgamesh, or the stories bards told strolling the streets of medieval Europe. They have embodied the values, beliefs, and codes of conduct of that particular society.
