Abstract
This paper consists of several examples of how mainstream biographers have ignored or misunderstood the lesbian experiences of famous women and how authors of revised biographies have tried to reclaim these experiences. Research was compiled through the analysis of mainstream biographies' and revised biographies' interpretations of the experiences that notable, historical women had with other women. This analysis will demonstrate omissions of or incomplete data in biographies of outstanding females, and answer the question; to what extent has the modern patriarchal culture erased the lesbian experience in biographies of famous women.
