Abstract
The initial concept for this project came to me during the winter semester of 1998. In my Peoples of the World class, an Environmental Studies component of my minor, we wanted to do a community service project promoting or helping the environment. It was a futile thought, as the complexity of this type of project involved much more than the scope of our efforts. I originally had envisioned a simple one-sheet pamphlet that would have small maps and directions to each site, without much further explanation. As it were, I stuck the idea in the back of my mind and there it stayed until the concept of an Honors Thesis came to be.
